(1) No one shall create pollution in such a manner as to have a significant adverse effect on the environment or to endanger public life and public health or to create noise from any mechanical device, industrial establishment or other place contrary to the prescribed standards, Heat, radioactive radiation and garbage should not be released.
(2) If it is found that someone has done any act contrary to sub-section (1) and has had a significant adverse effect on the environment, the relevant body may prescribe necessary conditions in that regard or prohibit such act from being carried out.
(3) If it appears that the use of any substance, fuel, tool or mechanism has or will have a significant adverse effect on the environment, the Ministry may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and ban the use of such substance, fuel, tool or mechanism.
(4) Other provisions related to the prevention and control of pollution shall be as prescribed.
